Colombus was born in Italy at Gênes.
His father was a weaver and he was a weaver too.
He was born in 1451 and he died in 1609.
He went to live in Lisbon in Portugal.
His brother Barthelemis made maps.
We know his discoveries because he had a book and he spoke to the king of
Portugal.
Route and problems
He travelled across the Atlantic Ocean because he tried to find a road to
Asia.
He didn't try a southern road to Asia
He went to Cuba.
He left Spain on the 3rd of August 1491with three ships called

-santa maria
He wanted to discover a road to Asia.
He arrived in Cuba.
The voyage took 2 months and 2 weeks.
The problem was
some sailors didn't know how to sail the ship because of the currents.
