Biography

 

 

He was a peasant's son. He was born in 1728. He died in 1779. He came from England. He lived in the eighteen century. His father was a peasant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Goals

 

 

The goals of his journey was to discover the southern world. He wanted to discover a new continent called Oceania. He didn't want to discover a new sea route. He discovered a new continent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Route

 

 

They went to the South Pacific, they stopped in Tahiti, New-Zeland, Australia and some small islands. It took three years.They met native people.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tools

 

 

The means of transport they used was a boat called the Endeavour. They used other tools to watch astronomy and weapons.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Contacts

 

 

They met other civilistions: natives, Maoris, Hawaians and man-eating natives.The contacts with the Maoris were violent. The contacts with the Hawaians were both violent and pacific.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Results

 

 

They discovered New-Zeland, Australia, Java and Sumatra.
