MARCO POLO

 

Marco Polo was born in 1254 at Venice and he died in 1326. His parents were merchants. They went to China. The goals of the journey were to discover China. They discovered the wonders of China and the mongols Kubilaï. Marco Polo discovered Japan, Thaïland, China, Tibet, India and Birma.

Marco Polo and his father left for China by ship.They went to Acre, Constantinople, Taris, Chermain, Kermos, Balk in Turkey, Iran and Afghanistan. They crossed the Indian Ocean and arrived in China in 1275. It took them 25 years. There was a disease on the ship. Marco Polo left Venice in a ship to Turkey and he continued on horseback to China. Marco Polo met Mongols and Chinese people. The encounters with Marco Polo were peaceful. He discovered China and Mongolia so he discovered what he wanted to discover. Their discoveries helped other navigators especially Christopher Columbus.
