The Normands lived in Scandinavia (Sweden, Denmark, Norway). In these countries, there was a lot of population and their territory was not good to grow fruit. The Normands became "Vikings". They went West to find more fertile territory. |
They went to Canada, Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom, France, Spain and Russia. They came from Scandinavia. The problems they had were storms, icebergs, rough seas and sea waves. |
They travelled on foot, on horse and by ship. |
They encountered Arabs, British and French people. The contacts were violent. |
They discovered the United States, Canada, Greenland and Iceland. Their discoveries didn't help other navigators. |
